Malaysia has taken clear steps to promote smart manufacturing through national policies, incentives, and digital transformation programmes. These initiatives aim to improve productivity, strengthen competitiveness, and future-proof the manufacturing sector. Despite this strong support, many manufacturers struggle to translate these opportunities into meaningful shop-floor improvements.
While incentives help reduce financial barriers, they do not automatically guarantee success. Many projects stall because manufacturers lack a clear execution roadmap, sufficient operational readiness, or internal capability to manage change. As a result, investments are made without delivering sustained impact.
